David Wierda went to Guinea in December 1986.
David worked with people in the Labé church for several
years. Here we are transporting cow manure for a garden project.
After a survey of small businesses in the Labé area in
1993, David, Michel Béavogui, and Mâadjou Bah started TNT-Labé to help
Labé cloth-dyers and tailors in February 1994.
David married Salimatou Camara from Labé in September 1994.
They have two children, Abraham and Maria.
David's parents visited Labé in June 1999.
In October 1999, the Wierda's moved to Michigan in the USA
where they will probably stay for several years, though they look forward
to the day they return to Labé. They stay in close contact with their
friends and family in Guinea.
