Some patterns are "tie dye", with the fabric bunched up and tied. 
Most Labé patterns are "sew dye". That is, the fabric is sewn up by hand to make the pattern.
More and more Labé patterns are "sewing machine dye". The cloth is sewn by machine.

Labé cloth-dyers have created a multitude of designs and continue to create new ones each year.
